The Ruya Foundation is proud to be a sponsor the third edition of the 3 Minutes, 3 Days Film Festival in Baghdad. The festival is organised and programmed by Dr. Hikmat Al Baydhani, director of Art City Film and TV Productions, the largest independent film and television production studio in Iraq. Over the course of three days, one hundred 3 minute films from 23 countries, including 50 shorts by Iraq-based filmmakers, will be screened at Art City Film and TV Productions in Baghdad. The aim of the festival is to support local and independent cinema, while connecting filmmakers from Iraq and those from other countries. The festival is also a platform for emerging Iraqi filmmakers to meet and show their films. Luay Abbas’s The Scribe (2017), which was commissioned by Ruya for the Iraq Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale, also forms part of the programme.
