In March 2015 the Ruya Foundation launched the first drama therapy project in Iraq, with support from the Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development. Ruya’s diary about the project continues:

Though the girls and teenagers at Adhimiya Flowers Orphanage had started training with the drama therapists, none of them had ever been to see a play.

As part of the training, which also encouraged drawing and music sessions, we asked them to imagine what a play would look like. Here are some of their drawings.
